Cabrera for Sanchez

November 22, 2011 2:21 pm
I agree that it was a good trade for the Royals because I think Melky may have had a career year last year.  However, Sanchez does not come without baggage.  Yes, he has excellent strikeout numbers, but with those high strikeouts he also drives up his pitch counts.  Combined with his penchant for issuing free passes, he may rarely see the sixth inning.  Our coaching staff should be preaching pitching to contact.  We are exceptionally strong up the midde defensively.  Let 'em hit the ball then throw them out!  We need to let him know that we will value his services much more if he can make it to the seventh before we have to make the call to the bullpen.  He has the talent and is still young enough to learn this new trick.  If he does, he could very easily be our ace.  Go Royals!

Why are they not trading Robinson to Oak, Sea, Col, Bal, Cubs or someone else who could use a 1b?  Are they going to let him waste away at AAA?
