Cabrera for SanchezNovember 22, 2011 2:21 pm
I agree that it was a good trade for the Royals because I think Melky may have had a career year last year. However, Sanchez does not come without baggage. Yes, he has excellent strikeout numbers, but with those high strikeouts he also drives up his pitch counts. Combined with his penchant for issuing free passes, he may rarely see the sixth inning. Our coaching staff should be preaching pitching to contact. We are exceptionally strong up the midde defensively. Let 'em hit the ball then throw them out! We need to let him know that we will value his services much more if he can make it to the seventh before we have to make the call to the bullpen. He has the talent and is still young enough to learn this new trick. If he does, he could very easily be our ace. Go Royals! Category: MLB Tags: Sanchez
Royals get the 1st of 2 starting pitchers needed.November 7, 2011 2:53 pm
Jonathan Sanchez......incredible trade by Dayton, maybe the best Royals trade in 15 years......Atlanta wanted Myers for Jair but we gave up Melky for a pitcher with better minor league stats, a better strikeout rate, a 13-9 season with a WS Ring to go along with it, Now signing a veteran #1 in Buerle or even still dealing for Jair will give us a great opening day lineup for '12....maybe the best in 20 years. Atlanta has Jar Juergens on the block? There we go, 25 yr old, solid foundation, much better option than Wilson....maybe Melky, Robinson and a pitcher to be named later.....grab the Veteran Buerle to anchor the staff and we are playing some ball. Category: MLB PLEASE, do not sign C.J. Wilson..November 3, 2011 2:53 am
